 Broke immediately, By RW (San Francisco, CA United States) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: DC Power Jack Plug for Asus EEE PC 1005HAB 1101HA 1008HA 1005HA 1201HA 1008HA 1005HA Before I even attempted to solder it into my motherboard, I tested it out by plugging my power adapter into it to make sure it would fit.Well, it did fit, the power adapter plugged right in, but when I pulled it out, I found that the center pin had broken off and was now stuck in my power adapter plug. Since the pin broke off about a millimeter inside the power adapter plug, there's no easy way to retrieve it. So now I have a useless power adapter, and a broken power jack. To be fair, this is the same thing that happened to my original power jack, which is why I'm replacing it (the difference is that there was enough of the center pin hanging out of the plug that I could pull it out and salvage the plug). On the plus side, the jack came with a strip of desoldering braid, which was a nice touch. Rather than order another power jack (and a replacement plug for my power cord), I'm just going to solder the power cord directly to the motherboard so it's... Read more |
