Not sure why it is not showing up. Because the battery runs down pretty fast on the G74SX, I was going to get and inverter and run the stock power supply to power the laptop with the engine running in my 2000 Ford Excursion. I came across this DC to DC power supply and hoped that would be an easier way to go. It turns out that the cigarette lighter in the truck is lower Amps (10A I believe), but the 4 other 12 Volt Power Points located throughout the vehicle are all Max 20 Amps draw. So, I assumed I would be fine using the other outlets. Looks like their max would probably be 240W (20A @ 12V) Seeing as the cigarette lighter outlet is generally rated at 120W max if you are lucky, I have only been using the 20A outlets and they have worked just fine with this power supply so far. And it was a last minute purchase, a week prior to an extended truck-camping trip. I was pretty pleased that it worked out of the box,w/o destroying my ASUS laptop, or otherwise destroying my trucks electrical system. (Semi-joking) The manufacturer produces a reliable, quality product..and the specifications are accurate as to model supported. Build quality is also good..well made. |
